Maturi Venkata Subba Rao Engineering College also known as MVSR Engineering College was established in 1981 with affiliation to Osmania University. Currently, the college has B.E programs in Civil, CSE, ECE, EEE, IT, Mechanical and Automobile Engineering, PG programs in CSE, ECE and Mechanical besides MBA. This college has been recognized by Osmania University as a Centre for pursuing research leading to the award of Ph.D. Degree in the Disciplines of CSE, ECE and Mechanical Engineering. In all about a 1000 students take admission per year. The college is one of the earliest of the private Engineering colleges in the state, and since inception, the college has ensured excellent and exemplary standards, which has helped the college to be one of the topmost andsought after colleges in the state. The college is located in a sprawling campus at Nadergul, just 16 kms from the city centre. The instructional facilities are spacious, and the laboratories are continuously upgraded with state of the art equipment. There are over 200 highly qualified and dedicated faculty. Faculty of various departments handle a number of consultancy assignments from GHMC, defense laboratories etc. The college has been awarded the National Employability Award 2013 by the Aspiring minds.
About CSI
The seed for the Computer Society of India (CSI) was first shown in the year 1965 with a handful of IT enthusiasts who were a computer user group and felt the need to organize their activities. They also wanted to share their knowledge and exchange ideas on what they felt was a fast emerging sector.
The purposes of the Society are scientific and educational directed towards the advancement of the theory and practice of computer science and IT.
Currently having more than 500 student branches and rooted firmly at 73 different locations.The idea is to spread the knowledge, and provide opportunities to as many interested as possible.
About CSI-MVSR
It was inaugurated in January, 2011 by the then CSI chairman Mr.I.L.Narasimha Rao & CSI secretary Mr.K.Rambabu during Dr.S.Udaya Kumar as Principal, MVSREC.
The chapter started with an intention of students initiated programs meeting the needs of the society and rapidly changing technology.
The activities are coordinated by the CSI Student Convener & co-ordinators who are elected by the CSI student members through voting once in two years (i.e. alternative years).
